Humans, are they real?

"Humans, are they real?" is an ongoing personal photography/styling project that began in 2022, the milestone of my first full year in New York. The cohesive delves into the connections between sociology, ego, and metaphysical existence of the individuals living in New York City from the perspective of an implanted resident, fascinated by how the intersection of these aspects work as coping mechanisms in a city, isolating and indifferent to its residents.

To combat the greyness of the city, we occupy ourselves with a singular concept, transforming from cynic actors to wholehearted believers. We create a shelter in our minds, constructed from an extreme of personality, a sort of grotesque beauty, that allows us to weather the challenges of New York City. Through photography, I aim to represent the notable hidden monsters I've encountered in New York City—those consumed by different aspects but comfortably at home in their mind.
